It was a very fulfilling exhibition with the content of the surprise that I brought this much content well. Although the image of the Dalai Lama and the Esoteric Buddhism is strong, only a vague image, the entity did not know so much. However, in this exhibition, I was able to learn a lot about Tibetan Buddhist culture at once. In particular the commentary machine will explain in detail too long w (might be a little difficult to understand all)
I will introduce the work that I liked in each chapter this time. There are some works with similar names, so I’ll mention the work No.
Introduction to Tibetan unification in the kingdom of Taiwanese natives >
Esoteric Buddhism is the one that was systematized in the India, but the esoteric Buddhism of Tibet is “late esoteric”, it was transmitted to the Shingon sect and Tendai sect of the Japan “medium-term esoteric” is the era that was transmitted from the India is different. This section was themed on the origins of Buddhism in Tibet.
Originally, “Bon-ism”, a religion of shamanism and nature worship, was the mainstream. However, at the beginning of the seventh century, the king named Sonzenganpo unified the Tibetan Plateau and built the Taiwanese natives kingdom, and Buddhism rooted in Tibet under the influence of two wives from the Buddhist country of China (Tang) and Nepal.
★ Tibetan Esoteric is also written in detail on the official website.Http://www.seichi-tibet.jp/points/about.html
003“Witch-on-the-map” ★ Can be seen here.Prologue Right
The map of Tibet is a picture in the form of a witch. There was a commentary that this witch reminiscent of the resistance of Bon. It is said that the Buddhist temple was built in the place where the witch was lying in the land of the Tibet by the fortune telling, and it was located in the indirect and the point of 12 to seal the movement. The Witch of the appearance which began to boil on the back was a work of a strong impression.
001“Sonzenganpo Seated statue” ★ Can be seen here.Prologue left
It is a seated statue of the Tibetan king, called the reincarnation of Kannon Bodhisattva. As I mentioned earlier, we are the king who accepted Buddhism, with two Queens (Tang and Nepal). The head of Amida-Nyorai was sittin’ on the head by wearing the one like the turban, and the figure which crossed the cucumber. I thought the atmosphere of a little India wind.
Chapter 1: Acceptance and development of Buddhist culture >
Buddhism was then enacted in the late seventh century as the state religion in the time of King Tisson de Zen, and many sutra and art items were brought into Tibet. It was introduced here that the acceptance and development.
006“Maitreya statue” ★ Can be seen here.
It is a gorgeous statue with inlaid and jewels used India the Buddha image of the Palara dynasty. I wiggle the upper body and draw a gentle curve. And it is a very graceful appearance with a lot of decorations on the golden skin. It was India-ish Maitreya that was well proportioned. Great.
014“Thangka seated statue of Buddha”
It is a picture like a square mandala. The picture of the hanging axis style seems to be “thangka”, and the ○ ○ Thangka comes in a lot after this. This work is depicted the life of the Buddha in a clockwise direction from the upper left, and the scene when the Mara was dismissed in the center is drawn. Something like a demon surrounding it, it was a little cartoonish and interesting pictures.
023“Nairad Miya Seated statue”
The moment you enter this piece, I felt the surprise that. Because, there were a number of seated statues of the monk of a vivid pose, and it seemed to have left the aura. Tibetan Buddhism seems to emphasize the connection from the master to The Apprentice, and these are like the statues of the founder called “Master’s”.
This statue was an explanation of the statue of a woman who seemed to be the master of the Sakya sect. There is a third eye on the forehead, and three eyes open and there is power. It had the bowl in the hand, and the decoration which made the motif of five skulls was attached to the crown which had been written and sitting on the corpse, and suffered to the head. From such a strange outfit, there was a feeling of presence of momentum approaching a little fearful. (The five skulls are introduced in Chapter 4.)
028“Atisha Seated statue”
India High Priest statue. I was sitting with a mark, and I was doing the expression which I asked with a clear face. It is said that this person put together various Buddhism of Tibet, and made the flow which becomes mainstream afterwards. At that time, Buddhism was suppressed, and it seemed to have been an age when Bon was regaining momentum, and there was an explanation that the country was a division state, too.
032“The statue of Dalai Lama 1”
It is the first of the famous Dalai Lama. “The Dalai Lama” means “having a broad virtue like the ocean”, named as the King of Mongolia, became a monk and the King of Tibet (the relationship is explained in Chapter 3). This is a small seated statue with a mark. It was small but it was a appearance with aura.
This is a lotus-shaped figurine. Inside one of the lotus petals is a small image, such as the Darkinney (former Hindu goddess), and the Bzan (10 arms and three faces) are placed in the center. I am surprised at the fineness, and it is said that this lotus can be closed like the bud in the retractable. I felt the strength and precision luxurious.
017“8000 Chung Prajna”
It is the one that the portrait and the Buddha and the pattern were drawn in like the picture frame. Before that, a huge sutra had been placed. There were a variety of sutra in this area, and the atmosphere was a little different from the Japan.
Chapter 2: The Essence of Tibetan esoteric Buddhism >
The content of this point was quite impressive, but the two chapters were the most popular in this exhibition.
When the Bon-ism regained momentum, Tibet again accepted the esoteric Buddhism of the late India. And, it seems to have applied power to connect with the local power, and to run the manor. This period is called the “post-transition”, and it was explained that the Buddhism which had been destroyed by Islam had fled to Tibet India.
039“Ten Thousand Eyes Kannon Bodhisattva statue” ★ Can be seen here.(Upper Banner)
When I enter the room of this work, it is this image that I am surprised at first. Because it is the exhibition method to be seen all around 360 degrees, I have watched it carefully. It has countless hands like a hedgehog’s needle, and there are really a thousand. The head is also stacked four steps vertically, there are about three sides each (not the 11 side to match) I felt that the yell was put in detail not odd to details. I think this is one of the most important attractions in this exhibition.
It is a Buddhist image lined with eight bodies. They are sitting with different hand movements. It seems to have valued the Yakushi in Tibet, and in the Tibetan medicine, it seems to have been thought to be the source of the sickness only of disturbing desires. Because stress is the origin of all diseases, it might not be necessarily mistake W
033“Five Buddha seated statue of Kongo world”
The five Buddha statues represent the universe with five bodies, meaning the great-day Buddha (Wisdom), Anworshipful-Buddha (Power), Houso Buddha (Wealth), Infinite-Buddha (Mercy), and the unvacated Buddha (profit). It was a spectacular statue.
043“Carla Chakra parents Buddha Statue” ★ Can be seen here.Chapter 2 Left
It is a life-size Buddhist image that becomes a poster, and I think that it is a work that can be called the top in this exhibition. (Commentary was also described as the best masterpiece of Tibetan sculpture.) The father, the symbol of mercy, is a sculpture of her mother, who symbolizes the wisdom of the sky. They both have four faces and many hands, and they have a weapon and a legal tool in their hands, and the forehead has a third eye. I felt a strong energy in each face showing various expressions such as severity, fear, and calm. It is surprising to bring such wonderful things to Japan. Moreover, it seems to be usually put on cloth, and it might be seldom to worship the whole body? I think this is a high-value exhibition.
044“Guhysamaja Seated statue thangka” ★ Can be seen here.Chapter Two Right
It is a thangka drawn in the extreme color (like a hanging axis). It depicts the main son of Tantra. It has an indigo skin, a face with indigo color on the front, a white face on the left and a red face on the right. I was impressed by the strength of the shades. The red doggy seems to flare up.
Mahakara is like Daikoku. This is a statue made of gold, the face is humorous but has a third eye on the forehead, it is a little scary feeling open to see all three eyes. The look of the parents of Daikoku of the Japan is not so much, was a little shock W
It moves from this side to 2F.
056“Green Turer statue”
It is the Buddha of the woman of the graceful pose which wiggle the waist. The white and green turer who followed Kannon seems to be popular in Tibet for saving everything. (The turer is all five colors) Turkey It was like a statue of a woman who felt beauty, such as a crown with stone and a light back such as a plant vine.
047“The statue of a French mother
It is a statue of a Enma with a face like a cow. Nine faces, 34 hands, 16 legs, and a wife in front. The big impact was the look of the looming powerful impression. It might be a feature of Tibet that there are a lot of Buddha statues embracing such.
060“The Darkinney statue” ★ Can be seen here.Chapter 2 Central
It is a picture of a woman with brown skin, but it is a frightening figure. There are countless skulls on the necklace that reach your feet, and skulls are also decorated with crowns on your head. Open the mouth with fangs, open the eyes of three, and tread the human foot. It is a very frightening figure, but it is a presence that brings enlightenment to the destination of pleasure if a good relationship. It is likely to be eaten and killed when the mood is impaired.
062“Lotus Mandala” ★ Can be seen here.
I introduced “Lotus Mandala” in the 005 of Chapter 1, but here there are a lot of Buddhas inside the lotus petals. (It seems to open and close.) These are said to be the three-dimensional mandala. It was a very fine piece of work up to the leaves and the golden make gorgeous atmosphere. You can see the national treasure class at the moment you see W
075“Kapara” ★ Can be seen here.
It comes with an orange lid and a pedestal carved in a skull cup made of high priest skull. Shingon was written in the skull, and the handle of the golden Punch was attached to the lid. Apparently Tibet was around here to start to think that “skull” is also a single keyword.
In this area, there were various items with precision work such as candlesticks, Mani cars, and incense burner. Moreover, there was a law tool with the head of the animal (size and shape of a large pen), and was lovely.
Chapter 3-Traffic with Ming and Qing >
This corner was a corner that felt something political w Tibet is a message that the Chinese are being put in? I found this page.
The invaded Holy Land Tibet-Potala Palace and the heavenly Treasures of the heavens-
※ This blog is a policy that does not cover political issues, but I link to fairness anyway.
I dare not pursue any more, but here I was introducing how Tibet was dating with successive Chinese.
Sakya Pandita of the Sakya sect was described as having met the king of the former (Genko), admitted that Mongolia ruled Tibet, and ruled Tibet on its behalf. And, Tibetan Buddhism became the original state religion. There seems to have been the speculation that the original wanted a religious back shield for this.
097“The mark of the great former Emperor Doge country” ★ Can be seen here.
With a white ball seal, two dragons are tangled in the handle. This is the mark that was passed to the first emperor. As a religious teacher of the former king, Pakpa was a person who contributed to the Tibetan esoteric Buddhism as the original state religion, and there was a seated statue which was made of jade next to it. It was a good seal only to symbolize the national right.
102“Blue flower high-legged bowl” ★ Can be seen here.
In the age of Ming, it was explained that unlike the Sakya rule of the former age, it ruled that each sect was made to compete and to take the balance. This is a bowl baked in a TOC kiln, and the Tibetan alphabet is written in blue glaze on the inside. Was it a gift from Ming to Tibet? In any case, it seemed to indicate that there was a connection between Tibetan Buddhism and China.
105“Straddle Aya Pagoda” ★ Can be seen here.
It was explained that the Qing was positively receptive to the Tibetan esoteric in the age of the Qing. This is a porcelain tower like Cloisonne, with a make gorgeous of yellow-based décor. It was a work that felt the rich culture of the Qing Dynasty.
Chapter 4 Living in Tibet >
At the end, it was a corner that conveyed Tibetan lifestyles and customs.
With a large chest decoration, the square is an angled combination (like the square version of the Star of David) with a vivid Turkey stone, decorated with coral and pearls, it has a very luxurious and unique atmosphere. This is said to have the effect of the protection and talisman of the Buddha. Still, coral and pearls in the mountains of Tibet is proof that trade was active.
111“Cham attire (Chitipati)” ★ Can be seen here.Chapter 4, Central
It is the face of a large skull and the costume for a skeleton pattern. I’m afraid that the skull is a little yellow to the real w there is a third eye on the surface and watch well, five skulls on the head is on board. Well, I have seen the skull many times so far, in Tibetan Buddhism these five skulls come out well, it seems to represent greed, envy, stupidity, childish, lust. It’s like a commandment, isn’t it?
114_115“Dunchen” and “Dunchen”
It is a long trumpet-like instrument. The length seems to be also 3m25cm, it is called the Tibetan horn. How long will it take you to carry it? If you think, it is like foldable to store. When I heard the sound actually in the commentary machine, heavy bass was full of a profound, religious atmosphere. In addition, there is a pedestal to be fixed in this, there is a statue like a skeleton dancing in pairs, there is a stand between the two people feel like superstitious the horn. In addition, skull and skeleton seem to be indispensable in Tibet again.
At the very end, there were about five thangka of medicine. I feel the unique values of Tibet.
So, there were quite a lot of information, and I was overwhelmed by the many wonderful works. I’m glad that the session is longer, so I may go again. I think it is interesting especially for those who are interested in Tibet.
